Private biology tutoring

One-to-one GCSE and A-level biology, online, with a fully qualified teacher.

Flora Kozma, qualified biology teacher

I teach because I love the subject, and the best bit is when something clicks: a topic that felt impossible five minutes ago suddenly makes sense.

I'm not above a bad joke if it makes something stick, and I'd much rather a session felt engaging than serious and solemn.

A lot of what I do is confidence building. I want you comfortable enough to try something and get it wrong in front of me, because that is where the learning actually happens: a wrong answer shows us both exactly which bit needs work, and it is far more useful to me than a nervous silence. Nobody gets made to feel small in my sessions for not knowing something yet.

Plenty of students arrive convinced they're just not a science person. Usually they've hit one topic that never quite landed, and everything after it wobbled. We find that topic, fix it properly, and the rest stops feeling impossible.

I've taught in state and independent schools, in the UK and abroad, and worked with students of every background and starting point. I particularly enjoy working with neurodivergent learners, and I'll adapt how a session runs to suit you: the pace, how much structure there is, how much gets written down, how we use the screen. Tell me what helps you and we'll work that way.

What people say

“Few teachers make you love a subject and make you excited to go to class every day. Having you as a science teacher really changed my grades: from an 80% to a 96% is a huge improvement, and that achievement makes me so happy, proud, and thankful that you taught me.”

C., Year 9

“Thanks to you, I could find Biology interesting. I might have dropped the subject already if you weren’t there. Your explanations were clear and easy to understand. I was able to improve a lot, not only academically, but also personally.”

Admissions support is separate work: the ESAT, the personal statement and the interview. Some students do both, and if you'd like tutoring alongside it, just say so and we'll sort it out. Admissions prices are here.
